Our lilac peppers. They turn from cream to purple to red. You can eat them at any point but apparently they taste better the longer you let them mature. As you can see, this one is turning a wonderful shade of purple.
These are Flashback flowers Dawn grew from seed.
Our Cortland storage onions are just about done. Then we'll pull 'em and make lots of yummy dishes and maybe even have some left over to store in the root cellar (that my dad and I will be building next week!)
The corn is coming along pretty well. Everything is either tassling or putting out ears. We had a violent storm today and it knocked some of the corn down. We hilled it and got it out of the squash (who wasted no time in putting their tendrils out onto the corn tops) as best as we could. We'll see over the next day or so if we need to do anything more drastic.
This is one of the hydrangeas that came with the house. It's blooming a wonderful shade of pink and white.
Our eggplant wasn't doing anything for the longest time but it's finally set a flower and is growing us a wonderful deep purple eggplant!
And, the butternut squash, which didn't look like it was going to do anything for the longest time, took off over the last few weeks. They're setting all over the place and you can see one of our baby squash coming along.
Anyway, that's it for now. We're getting pickling cucumbers every few days and will be starting to process more of those. We have a recipe we like and will be using some garlic from the neighbor to really pack in some punch.
