Up to our eyes in lettuce

Here's the lettuce bed Dawn planted. She has romaine, mesclun, red sails, a misticanza mix of chickory and leaf lettuce, and an heirloom leaf mix. We're also growing a few different onion and radish varieties to fill out the box.

Due to our funky spring, we got a late start on so many things... the lettuce was direct sown on 4/29. The picture was a couple days ago and we've been eating lettuce for a week or so.
We've been pretty fortunate on some pests so far this year. Neither I nor the neighbors have had any issues with pests going after the lettuce.

  1. Hi Dawn! Thanks for your kind comment on my "Hello" card on Summer Camp 2! You asked about the flower on my blog banner--it's an Osteropermum (not sure of the spelling). It's an annual and comes in several different colours. Your veggie garden looks wonderful! Have a good day!
