I took the Johnny's seed catalog on the treadmill with me and found purple sprouting broccoli. Of course it sounded yummy and cool so I had to order some! So cool though, that I ordered 250 seeds so I could share it's coolness with my other gardening family members. =) Tim, you're getting some, and Grandpa too!
It's apparently common in Europe and should be sweet and tender. It says it will produce continually over 3 to 5 weeks so that's good too. They shouldn't be planted when they will mature in hot weather or they will be bitter. I can't wait!! Woo hoo. Fall purple broccoli harvest for me!
